Zenko-ji is sect-less temple established singly in Motoyoshicho, Nagano-shi, Nagano. Many national treasure and important cultural asset are here and there centering on a main hall around Zenko-ji.
It’s the minster which becomes big soliciting contributions for pious purposes and a big long cherished desire from a minor Zen temple of 39 in about 59,000 square meters of precinct. A main hall is Buddhist architecture in Edo middle term when it takes pride in its biggest scale in the eastern Japan with the peculiar structure called one built with mallet with a grand place of worship at the front of Buddhist sanctum. A worshipper as much as about 6,000,000 people a year visits.

The most famous one is Gokaicho performed once per 7 years at Zenko-ji. It’s held for about 50 days until time at the end of May from the beginning of April.
I say to open a curtain of Zuishi on a specific day by a temple and exhibit the important Buddhist image which can’t usually be prayed to people. People will receive “Maedachi Honzon (important cultural asset)” which is usually enshrined in Zenko-ji treasure house into a main hall, and can go and worship now. Because I’m the alter ego’s Budda who stands in front of the principal image, it’s called “Maedachi Honzon” this.
