The park where Nishikoen is in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka. It was called “Mt. Aratsu” before.
It was maintained as a natural hill and a park using a ravine in 1881. You can get a bird’s-eye view of in Fukuoka-shi, Hakata-wan and Shikanoshima at hills of about 170,000 square meters of area which projects into Hakata-wan.
There are about 3000 cherry trees and it’s selected in 100 elections of Japan cherry tree famous place. The autumnal tints of the maple and the gingko can be enjoyed in autumn.
