Tsutenkaku is the observation tower built at the center of Shinsekai in Naniwa-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka.
In 1912, a steel tower like the Eiffel Tower was built as a symbol in a new world. Height 64m took pride in the height of the best in the East then. It was the meaning with “high building which leads to heaven” and was named “Tsutenkaku” by a Confucian scholar Fujisawa Nangaku. It was dissolved by fire, but a tower of height 103m was built in 1956.
There is an observatory where you can get a bird’s-eye view of Osaka on the 5th floor. When a sole is stroked, there is Billiken image a fortune visits. 700,000 people a year visit and are learned about as a tourist spot in Osaka.
