The zoo of Osaka municipal school where Tennoji-zoo is in Tennoji Park in Tennoji-ku, Osaka-shi. It opens as the 3rd zoo in Japan on January 1, 1915.
There are an elephant, a lion and a chimpanzee in about 11 hectares of park. There is a Kiwi of the New Zealand national bird which can be seen only at Tennoji-zoo, and a fishing Cat which catches a fish in the pond and eats, and a popular Koala. An approximately 230 kinds of animal beyond 900 points is raised.
The number of general pay people exceeded 100 million people on July 16, 2006. It’s big in the 2nd following Ueno Zoo in Japan.
