Yoshinoyama is a general term in a mountain in a central part in Nara-ken. Or a region place name which is dotted with the shrines and temples where the Kanemine temple in mountain was made the center.
It’s also a historic site of the Southern Court the Emperor Godaigo held at the place where Minamotono Yoshitsune huddled close together. It’s learned about in the whole country as a famous place of a cherry tree. It’s called Shimo-senbon, Naka-senbon, Kami-senbon and Oku-senbon every area. You assume that there are total of 30,000 cherry trees, and you can go see the cherry blossoms from everywhere in a mountain.
It was designated as national scenic spot and ruin in December, 1924, and it was designated in the Yoshino-Kumano National Park in February, 1936. It was registered with the world’s cultural and natural heritage of UNESCO in July, 2004. It was selected in 100 elections of Japan cherry tree famous place in 1990.
