Aoba-Castle

Aoba-jo is the Japanese castle which was in Aobayama in present Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi. An another name, “Sendai Castle”. It was designated as a national ruin on August 27, 2003.

A castle was built in 1189 and Aobajou was claimed at Mr. Date’s castle resided. It was the castle which was built in the natural stronghold where a cliff makes the east and the south hard in about 130 m of altitude. Anyway Shiro disappears and has Ishigaki and a reconstructed side turret in now it’s said that the donjon didn’t provide to avoid the jealousy of general Ieyasu.
